Early Childhood International Education
Pedagogical Proposal
Bilingual learning goes far beyond the mastery of a second language. Our school offers at this early stage, the international school model: 100% of all our classes and instructions are given in English so that your children are exposed as much as possible to the target language during the period they are in school. Consequently, our faculty is composed of foreign professionals or highly proficient speakers.
During the literacy phase, introducing a child to a new language is a very rich experience and, contrary to what some may think, it does not hinder their skills in their mother tongue, but rather enhances their brain connections and phonetic identifications. Acquiring this ability at an early age helps increase cognitive abilities as well as improve concentration and memory.
Our methodology is applied through dynamic learning, infusion of culture with the aid of technology. School projects are worked through fun activities and a variety of strategies that value the individual skills of each student, thus ensuring the best progress for each one’s potential.
Tots & Teens schedule is flexible in order to adapt to the needs of each family, facilitating the option of keeping your children in school for part time, extended or full time.
Níveis
Nursery
Age: 3 years old
Children at this stage begin to relate to each other and increase their independence and self-confidence initiating verbal exchange and developing communication skills.
They begin to verbalize the basic commands in the second language and the vocabulary expands by including letters, numbers, colors, geometric shapes, animals, family members and objects that permeate their everyday life.
Pre-Kindergarten
Age: 4 years
The Pre-K Class continues with the English immersion process. In a short time, the children begin to develop overall skills in relation to the language and the fruit of our developed work can already be seen more clearly.
Students start to express themselves in English with confidence, reporting experiences from outside the school environment, requesting materials and verbalizing more elaborate phrases.
Kindergarten
Age: 5 years old
At this stage, our students are preparing for their next step - Elementary School and so the literacy process, reading, writing, and math acquisition, is implemented.
Communication and expression skills are improved and bilingualism is perceived inside and outside school, as they are ready to start reading and writing in English.
Materials
Our teaching/learning resources are mostly imported in line with what is used by the international schools. Specific materials are also prepared by our pedagogical team in order to meet the individual needs of our students.
Our school calendar has been adapted to facilitate the entry of students both into the international system and the local Brazilian schools.
